United Bags offers a wide range of products, including FIBCs (bulk bags), woven polypropylene bags, paper bags, and custom packaging solutions.Position OverviewWe are looking for a motivated, dependable, and experienced Forklift Operator to join our Lafayette warehouse team. The primary responsibility of this position is to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to receive, move, stage, store, and load materials and finished products.The ideal candidate will have previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment, be safety-focused, and be comfortable handling heavy materials in a fast-paced setting. We are looking for someone who wants to establish a long-term career with a stable company that values teamwork, safety, and reliability.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials and products.Load and unload trucks while ensuring proper handling and placement of products.Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials and products.Pick, stage, and prepare products for outgoing shipments.Safely move and organize inventory throughout the warehouse.Maintain accurate inventory records through manual logs or warehouse management systems.Perform routine forklift and equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet shipping and production deadlines.Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.Qualifications and SkillsPrevious forklift operating experience is required.Valid forklift certification is highly preferred.Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.Ability to safely operate a forklift in confined and industrial spaces.Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials.Basic understanding of inventory and warehouse procedures.Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.Ability to work effectively as part of a team.High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment for extended periods.Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.Ability to work around machinery noise, dust, fluctuating temperatures, and moving equipment.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in an industrial warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to:Heavy machinery and moving equipmentForklifts and other material-handling equipmentFluctuating temperatures and dusty conditionsIndustrial noiseA team-oriented environment focused on safety and efficiencyBenefitsCompetitive hourly wage Health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offHoliday pay401(k)Profit sharingHow to ApplyPlease submit your resume and a copy of your forklift certification, if applicable, to jobs@unitedbags.com.We look forward to welcoming you to the United Bags team.United Bags, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
