(Garg) is a multidisciplinary engineering firm delivering transportation and infrastructure solutions across the Northeast. We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to join our Woodbridge, NJ team and support Facility/MEP (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection), railroad/rail transit systems, and rail vehicle engineering projects.Position OverviewThe Mechanical Engineer will deliver mechanical design and coordination support for MEP/building systems, rail and transit infrastructure, and vehicle systems work-producing drawings, calculations, specifications, and engineering deliverables for projects throughout the region.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport mechanical design across Facility/MEP, Railroad/Rail Transit, and Vehicle Engineering groupsDesign HVAC systems, including tunnel and station ventilation concepts where applicableDevelop plumbing and drainage layouts for facilities and infrastructure projectsSupport fire protection and life-safety related mechanical system design coordinationContribute to mechanical systems in rail stations and vehicle maintenance facilitiesSupport onboard rail vehicle mechanical systems (as assigned)Develop plans, specifications & estimates (PS&E) and support design packages through submissionPerform load calculations, equipment selection/sizing, and layout developmentCreate and revise design drawings/models using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and/or SolidWorksSupport field surveys, site visits, and existing-conditions assessmentsCoordinate with civil, structural, electrical, and client teams to resolve interfaces and deliver complete designsApply applicable codes/standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME, ADA) and agency requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification2–5 years of mechanical design experience (MEP/HVAC, facilities, rail/transit, railroad systems, vehicle systems, or similar)Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems design fundamentalsExperience supporting (or strong interest in) rail/transit, railroad systems, MEP, and/or vehicle programsProficiency with Microsoft Office and CAD/design tools (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and/or SolidWorks)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary teamWillingness to travel for occasional site visitsValid U.S. driver's license and work authorizationPreferred QualificationsRail or transit project exposure (NJ Transit, Amtrak, MTA, etc.)Familiarity with tunnel ventilation, fire suppression, train wash systems, pressurization, and/or onboard vehicle systemsKnowledge of public agency standards and transportation codesCompensation & BenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision Insurance401(k) Retirement Plan with Company MatchPaid Time Off & Paid HolidaysPerformance-Based BonusesWellness perk: gym membership reimbursementEqual Opportunity EmployerGarg is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
