HiFyve is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support manufacturing operations!
Salary: $25.00 – $38.00 per hour (BOE) + Quarterly Bonuses
Shift: 2nd 2:30-11 PM
Location: Mexico, MO
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician provides technical support for machining and assembly operations. This position works as part of the Operations Support Team to achieve departmental and company goals while supporting a safe, collaborative, and quality-focused work environment.
Equipment Support and Maintenance:
• Perform preventative maintenance on machining and assembly equipment according to established specifications and required timelines.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate concerns involving abnormal component wear, equipment performance, and machine safety.
• Assist with determining when equipment should be removed from production for further evaluation and when equipment is safe to return to production.
• Complete required maintenance documentation and work orders through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
CNC and Technical Skills:
• Set up CNC machines and prepare tooling based on machine capabilities, material properties, programs, and shop math.
• Perform CNC programming functions and make program adjustments as needed for production runs.
• Select and prepare appropriate tooling and perform feed and speed calculations.
• Monitor CNC machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain production accuracy and quality.
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings and apply geometric and trigonometric principles as required.
• Inspect precision parts using standard inspection equipment, precision tools, and indicators.
Tooling and Process Improvement:
• Monitor tool life to maximize tooling life and minimize tooling-related scrap.
• Support cost-reduction measures for cutting tools.
• Maintain accurate tooling documentation, including tooling lists, inventory levels, vendor information, and tool holding requirements.
• Perform CNC program backups to the network.
• Support continuous improvement activities by developing and improving machine processes.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Train and assist team members with CNC machine operation and problem-solving.
• Communicate technical issues, equipment concerns, and recommendations clearly with supervisors, team leaders, and production personnel.
• Work collaboratively with Operations and other departments to identify and resolve equipment and process issues.
• Contribute to a positive work environment through effective communication, teamwork, and professional behavior.
Quality and Safety:
• Follow established quality processes, procedures, standards, and customer requirements.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized machines and work areas.
• Attend required seminars, vendor training, and in-house training opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong CNC machining, setup, programming, and troubleshooting abilities
• Knowledge of CNC machine capabilities, tooling, feeds and speeds, and machining processes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Strong understanding of shop math, including geometric and trigonometric principles
• Ability to use precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical abilities
• Ability to maintain accurate tooling, maintenance, and production documentation
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
• High School Diploma/GED
• Two-year Machine Technology degree, similar technical degree/certification, and/or CNC Certification
• 5+ years of CNC machinist and CNC programming experience
Preferred:
• CAD experience
• Completion of vendor programming and machine maintenance classes, such as Makino, Okuma, or similar
