Crucial Link is hiring multiple experienced Structural Steel Fitters / Fabricators and Welder/Fitters for a well-established Birmingham-area equipment manufacturer.
If you have experience with structural steel fabrication, heavy plate, MIG welding, blueprint reading, layout and fit-up, we want to talk to you.

What You'll Be Doing
- Fit and assemble structural steel and heavy plate components
- Read and work from blueprints, fabrication drawings and specifications
- Perform layout and fit-up of fabricated steel components
- Measure, position and align components before welding
- Tack weld and MIG weld as needed during the fabrication and fitting process
- Use grinders, torches, saws and other standard metal fabrication equipment
- Check dimensions, fit and overall quality of completed work
- Build custom industrial equipment and larger fabricated assemblies
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Plate Fitter, Steel Fabricator, Welder/Fitter or similar fabrication role
- Experience working with structural steel and/or heavy plate
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Experience with layout, fabrication and fit-up
- MIG welding and tack welding experience
- Ability to accurately use tape measures and other measuring tools
- Ability to work independently from drawings and specifications
- Must have own basic tools
- Dependable, safety-minded and takes pride in quality work
