Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring cath lab and angio scrub experience.

Details

• Acute care teaching hospital, Level I Trauma designation
• Cath Lab unit performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
• Call requirement of approximately one weeknight per week and one weekend every 3-4 weeks
• Float within the site and across the health system as requested
• Uses Epic charting system
• Uses Philips equipment and ultrasound
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ARRT-R certification required
• Oregon state license (OBMI) required, or proof of application and fingerprinting; license required if applicable
• Experience in both Cath Lab and Angio with scrub experience required
• Skills in cardiac cath lab procedures, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations (adult), left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, temporary pacemaker, and scrub procedures required
• Experience with equipment setup, access site prep, sterile field maintenance, and room circulator duties required
• One professional reference from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager required, preferably within the last year
• No felony convictions accepted; any background hits require an explanation statement and waiver/approval documentation

Additional Information

• Perform equipment setup, access site preparation, sterile field maintenance, room circulator duties, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Responsible for stocking supplies and operating PACS equipment
• Complete all pre-start compliance documents, modules, skills testing, and competencies prior to start
• Complete any assigned education within one week of the assignment start
• Must cancel low census shifts at least 1.5 hours before shift start; may be mandatorily cancelled one shift per two-week pay period without cause or penalty
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local travelers accepted only if residing beyond a 50-mile radius from any facility in the system
• First-time travelers may be considered with the right experience
