Mechanical Engineer

**Description** **SAIC** is seeking a **Mechanical Engineer** in **Crane, IN** . **Job Duties** : + Develop, update, and maintain mechanical designs, engineering drawings, and technical data packages for AN/SLQ-32 hardware and supporting equipment. + Create and revise Installation Control Drawings (ICDs), assembly drawings, detail drawings, and shipboard installation packages. + Generate and validate 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering documentation using industry-standard mechanical design tools. + Review mechanical designs for accuracy, manufacturability, maintainability, and compliance with program requirements. + Support Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Technical Data Package (TDP) updates, and configuration management activities. + Verify model dimensions and drawing requirements against engineering standards and released documentation. + Convert and migrate engineering drawings and models between CAD platforms while maintaining configuration control. + Support design reviews, technical interchange meetings, working groups, and engineering assessments. + Conduct engineering investigations and root-cause analyses related to hardware performance, installation issues, and fleet-reported deficiencies. + Develop technical reports, engineering analyses, recommendations, and corrective actions. + Coordinate with electrical, systems, logistics, manufacturing, and government engineering personnel throughout the design lifecycle. + Assist with shipboard integration activities, modernization efforts, and product improvements supporting fleet readiness. **Qualifications** + Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience. + Must be eligible for an Interim Secret Clearance. + Must have prior experience with the Navy's SLQ-32 system.
