We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Control Chemist to support laboratory operations within a regulated manufacturing environment. This position will perform and oversee analytical testing, support laboratory investigations and validation activities, maintain laboratory instrumentation, and provide technical guidance to QC team members.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry, chromatography, spectroscopy, analytical instrumentation, and GMP-regulated laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products in accordance with established procedures and applicable pharmacopoeias.
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation.
  • Review analytical data and documentation and perform lot releases as applicable.
  • Support process validation, instrument validation, method validation, and analytical method development activities.
  • Prepare samples for testing by internal and external laboratories, as applicable.
  • Write and/or review laboratory investigations and deviations.
  • Provide technical expertise, training, coaching, and mentorship to QC Chemists.
  • Support the development and implementation of laboratory procedures and systems.
  • Ensure laboratory activities remain compliant with cGMP and FDA/regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits and maintain inspection readiness.
  • Work collaboratively with QA, QC, and other departments.
  • Promote safe laboratory practices and proper use of laboratory equipment and PPE.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline.
  • 10+ years of hands-on laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong background in chemistry, chromatography, and spectroscopy.
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory equipment and analytical troubleshooting.
  • Experience troubleshooting analytical methods and understanding critical analytical variables.
  • Experience with data acquisition software, chromatographic data systems, and data management systems.
  • Knowledge of GMPs, 21 CFR Parts 210 and 211, and applicable FDA requirements preferred.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong coaching and teamwork skills.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to perform work requiring close visual inspection and distinguish between colors.
