About the Role: 
Sylvan Learning Center in Marlton, NJ is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Part-Time History Tutor to join our team! In this in-person role, you'll have the opportunity to inspire students, build their confidence, and help them unlock their full academic potential. If you love history and love helping others learn, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Sylvan is open Monday - Thursday: 4pm - 8pm and Saturday: 9am - 1pm.

 
Responsibilities: 

• Deliver engaging, one-on-one or small group in-person history tutoring sessions
• Assess student knowledge gaps and develop personalized learning strategies
• Support students with history coursework, test preparation, and study skills
• Track and document student progress and communicate updates to Center Director
• Create a positive, encouraging learning environment that motivates students

Requirements:
 

• Strong knowledge of History, including U.S. History, World History, and/or AP/Honors History courses
• Previous tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, encouraging, and student-focused approach to learning
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor
• Bachelor's degree in History, Education, or related field preferred (or currently enrolled)
