Are you a hands-on Production Manager with a passion for streamlining operations and guiding teams to success?

APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Strasburg, VA looking to add a Production Manager to their new operation.  Their primary responsibility will be directing all plant activities, leading the management team with oversight of all plant workers, ensuring compliance with safety standards, delivering efficient, high-quality operational performance, and meeting/exceeding P&L objectives.  Keep reading for more details!

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage production teams to ensure safe, efficient operations
  2. Manage daily production activities to achieve production targets of output, waste, cost control and machine utilization
  3. Maintain strong leadership and floor presence
  4. Ensure process procedures are in place and current for all production processes to drive consistency and promote collaboration to achieve an engaged workforce
  5. Drive safety culture and compliance with safety protocols/environmental regulations/labor laws at all times
  6. Track, monitor and improve KPIs
  7. Analyze data for operational improvements
  8. Implement continuous improvement initiatives
  9. Coordinate schedules, staffing, and resources
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and resolve production issues quickly
  11. Identify quality issues, ensure investigation is completed thoroughly/promptly and corrective action is taken
  12. Lead team development and engagement and address any performance issues
  13. Actively participate in the management team which determines priorities, resolves issues and plans for the development of the recycling plant
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in related manufacturing or management discipline (such as mechanical or industrial engineering or business management)
  2. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in plant leadership role
  3. Exceptional safety and performance track record
  4. Strong KPI management and continuous improvement experience
  5. Excellent problem-solving and project management skills with team-oriented, collaborative demeanor
  6. Proven track record of developing and implementing operational plans to improve efficiency
  7. Strong analytical skills with high degree of attention to detail
  8. Possesses strong written & verbal communications with all levels of management, time management, and interpersonal skills
  9. Self-motivated with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage complex/changing priorities
  10. Demonstrated ability to make tough business and management decisions in a fast-paced environment
  11. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  12. Physically capable and available to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings as needed
