JOB DESCRIPTION Production Supervisor, AssemblyA rapidly growing manufacturer of custom-engineered thermal management and industrial equipment is seeking two hands-on Production Supervisors to support expanding production and assembly operations in Dayton, Minnesota.
There is one opening on 1st shift and one opening on 2nd shift.
The company is adding new production and assembly lines at a growing manufacturing facility. They need experienced manufacturing leaders who are comfortable on the production floor, know how to lead people, solve problems and maintain strong expectations around safety, quality, productivity and delivery.
This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead daily production and assembly activities for the assigned shift.
- Supervise, coach and develop production operators, technicians and assembly employees.
- Ensure production schedules and daily output requirements are achieved.
- Maintain high standards for safety, quality, productivity and delivery.
- Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor.
- Identify and resolve production issues involving equipment, materials, staffing, quality or workflow.
- Minimize downtime and address production bottlenecks quickly.
- Support the launch, stabilization and improvement of new production and assembly lines.
- Enforce established safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Monitor product quality and address defects, rework and other production concerns.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, waste reduction, workflow and team performance.
- Maintain production data, output metrics and required shift documentation.
- Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve operational issues.
- Train and develop employees while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
- Support effective shift handoffs and communication across the operation.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Approximately 3 to 5+ years of manufacturing or production leadership experience preferred.
- At least 2 years directly supervising or leading employees in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading hourly production, manufacturing or assembly employees.
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong understanding of safety, quality, productivity and delivery.
- Strong hands-on problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop employees.
- Comfortable spending significant time on the manufacturing floor.
- Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, ERP systems and production-related software.
- Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering and Supply Chain.
