Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a critical access hospital's outpatient-focused therapy department serving all ages and diagnoses.
Details
- Critical access hospital in a rural setting with 18 inpatient beds
- Therapy department is over 90% outpatient with the remaining 10% inpatient/swing bed patients
- Interdisciplinary therapy team consisting of PT, OT, and Speech Therapy
- Treats all ages and diagnoses including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general adult populations
- Schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
- 20-week assignment
Requirements
- Current Illinois PT license required if applicable
- Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or accredited college/university with a certificate in Physical Therapy
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Experience in all aspects of physical therapy required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Basic computer knowledge required
- Knowledge of physical medicine, PT modalities, anatomy, and physiology
- Physical demands include vision, hearing, repetitive motion, and standing
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include evaluation, planning, directing, and administering PT treatments as prescribed by a physician
- Supervises and delegates responsibilities to supportive PT staff
- Performs patient assessments and formulates individualized plans of care and teaching plans, including family involvement as appropriate
- Ensures accurate and timely documentation and patient charges
- Coordinates and communicates with physicians, staff, and administrative team to ensure quality patient care
- Participates in infection control, equipment training, safety, and quality programs
- Maintains professionalism and respect for patient and family cultural, psychosocial, and spiritual needs
