About the Role:
Alliance Bakery in Chicago, IL is looking for a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our team! Responsibilities:
- Design and decorate custom cakes, cupcakes, and baked goods for a variety of occasions
- Apply frosting, fondant, buttercream, and other decorative elements with precision and artistry
- Collaborate with customers to understand design requests and bring their vision to life
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace in compliance with food safety standards
- Manage multiple cake orders simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Assist with inventory management of decorating supplies and ingredients
- Stay current with cake decorating trends, techniques, and seasonal designs
Requirements:
- Prior experience in cake decorating, pastry arts, or a related baking role
- Proficiency in fondant work, piping, and buttercream techniques
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design and aesthetics
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe certification a plus)
- Strong communication skills for interpreting and fulfilling custom orders
- Reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player
