An established steel manufacturing company in Alabaster, Alabama is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to oversee product quality, inspections, and continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.

The Quality Manager oversees the quality engineering function for all steel manufacturing operations. This role ensures that raw materials, in-process components, weldments, and finished steel products meet required standards, customer specifications, and industry regulations.

This is a hands-on leadership role working directly on the production floor to ensure products consistently meet customer specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect manufactured parts
• Perform dimensional inspections
• Operate precision measuring equipment
• Use CMM and ROMER Arm equipment
• Complete PPAP documentation
• Ensure on-time inspections
• Maintain inspection records
• Support continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in steel manufacturing, metal fabrication, or heavy industrial quality roles.
• 1+ years of supervisory or leadership experience within a quality engineering or QC environment.
• Strong knowledge of steel properties, heat treatment, welding practices, material specifications, and fabrication processes.
• Manufacturing experience required
• Ability to read blueprints
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of PPAP
• ERP experience preferred
• ROMER Arm experience preferred
