Job Description
Title: Expediter II
Location: Aiken, SC 29805
Pay Rate: $25-27HR
Duration: Temporary to Hire
SCHEDULES: 5am-3:30pm or 3:15pm to 1:45am

Summary:
Supporting manufacturing operations, ensuring that high-quality components are produced safely and efficiently to meet rigorous defense specifications. This position will grow and learn within the operations group to help the team achieve production needs. This position will help move product between operations and to “lay-down” areas as instructed. The Expediter will also help with locating and moving fixtures, staging jobs, reviewing paperwork before moving work to new operations, and assist in general shop work to facilitate the operations workflow.
Skills Required:
Production & Assembly: Load and unload parts onto weld tables and fixtures; stage weldments and fixtures as needed in production areas or “lay-down” areas.
Quality Assurance: Review paperwork before moving items to the next operation as well as keeping an eye out for damaged parts or components.
Problem Solving: Basic problem-solving skills in a weld and machine environment.
Material Handling: Have (or achieve) forklift certification and have the aptitude to safely use all material handling equipment including but not limited to; various forklifts, hand carts, cranes, rigging equipment, magnets, and other material handling tools/equipment.
Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in strict accordance with company safety protocols. Be a champion of safety for other employees.
Team Support: Perform additional duties as required to support overall team objectives and production schedules.
Experience Required:
- 1 year of Experience
- Certification: Must become forklift and crane/rigging qualified or certified within two months.
- Technical Skill: Ability to operate forklifts and lifting equipment in a safe and reliable manner.
- Safety Mindset: A commitment to promoting a culture of safety within the manufacturing environment.
- Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professional conduct and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Education Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent at minimum.
- Ability to successfully pass crane and rigging training within two months of hire.
- Crane and rigging (lifting) certification or qualification.
- Forklift experience and certification or qualification.
