Material Handler

Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse and manufacturing operations by receiving, storing, picking, moving, and shipping materials and products. This role helps maintain accurate inventory, fulfill production and line stock requirements, and ensure materials are available when needed.

The Material Handler may support a variety of warehouse functions, including shipping and receiving, inventory transactions, picking and packing, kitting, material movement, and general warehouse organization. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials, products, and shipments and verify quantities and items against purchase orders, packing slips, or other documentation.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, discrepancies, or quality concerns and properly identify or segregate items as needed.
• Pull and stage materials to support production, line stock requests, customer orders, and other operational needs.
• Pick, pack, label, and prepare materials and products for shipment.
• Process inbound and outbound inventory transactions accurately using warehouse or inventory management systems.
• Maintain accurate records of materials received, moved, issued, and shipped.
• Stock and organize warehouse locations to maintain efficient and accurate inventory.
• Support inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities.
• Assist with kitting, material staging, and other production-support activities.
• Prepare shipments, including weighing packages and ensuring materials are properly packaged and labeled.
• Move materials between warehouse, production, and shipping/receiving areas.
• Support inbound and outbound shipments to domestic and international facilities as required.
• Safely handle electronic components and other materials that may be sensitive to static, moisture, or damage.
• Operate material-handling equipment, including forklifts, when trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures, warehouse practices, and material-handling requirements.
• Perform other warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in material handling, warehouse operations, shipping/receiving, inventory, or a related environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate inventory and shipping records.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Familiarity with inventory systems, warehouse transactions, or computer-based material tracking preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Ability to safely handle and move materials of varying sizes and weights.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Forklift experience or certification is a plus.
• Experience handling electronics, static-sensitive, moisture-sensitive, or other specialized materials is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and packages.
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, climb stairs, and perform repetitive material-handling tasks.
• Ability to lift heavier materials as required, with proper lifting techniques and within company safety guidelines.
• Ability to work safely in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This position operates in a fast-paced warehouse/manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with warehouse, production, shipping, receiving, and other operational teams. The employee is expected to maintain a strong focus on safety, accuracy, productivity, and material availability.
