Shop Hand

Broussard, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Shop Hand Laborer – Wash Rack / Shop Technician. This is an entry-level position responsible for supporting shop operations from equipment check-in through load-out. Duties may include equipment maintenance, wash mat operations, repair, rebuilding, testing, and low-pressure equipment work. The typical schedule is anticipated to be Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with overtime and some Saturdays as needed. Pay is dependent on experience (DOE).

Essential Duties:
• Perform general shop labor duties involving equipment and materials from check-in through load-out.
• Assist with maintenance, wash rack/wash mat operations, equipment repair, rebuilding, testing, and low-pressure work.
• Receive and follow oral and written instructions from supervisors to complete assigned projects safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload equipment and materials to and from pallets, baskets, and staging areas by hand or with appropriate lifting equipment.
• Use various hand tools and equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment.
• Properly identify materials and distribute them to designated staging areas.
• Perform basic adjustments and minor repairs to equipment as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through daily housekeeping.
• Manually tighten and loosen hammer-type union connections using an overhand swinging motion with a 4–12 lb. hammer.
• Work at a rapid, efficient, and safe pace while following established safety procedures.
• Perform additional shop and general labor duties as assigned.

Requirements/Skills:
• Entry-level position; previous shop or oilfield experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic working knowledge of oilfield-related activities preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
• Previous rental tool experience is a plus.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand tools and shop equipment.
• Must be able to meet required DISA screening requirements upon hire and comply with random screening requirements while assigned.
• Must provide and wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, and safety glasses.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping, and following established procedures.

Physical Requirements:
• Heavy-work classification requiring frequent physical activity throughout the workday.
• Ability to exert and/or lift up to 50 lbs. frequently or occasionally as required.
• Ability to work for extended periods while standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to push and pull equipment or materials while exerting manual force.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and manually handle equipment and materials.
• Ability to safely swing and control a 4–12 lb. hammer when tightening or loosening hammer-type union connections.
• Ability to work outdoors and around moving equipment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work at an efficient and safe pace.
