Assembly Person

Location: Bellingham/North Attleboro

Algonquin Industries is seeking an Assembly Technician to work within assembly areas, electro-mechanical assembly, part marking, and manufacturing operations to ensure production cycles and efficiencies are met or exceeded.

Job Responsibilities

• Retrieves and studies assembly instructions, detailed blueprints, and parts lists
• Implements company Quality Management System procedures, flow charts, and work instructions for continuous improvement
• Prepares parts prior to assembly and distinguishes different types of materials
• Assembles components using air tools, hand wrenches, pneumatic tools, and machine shop measuring equipment
• Resolves assembly problems, identifies and corrects process issues, and ensures all components meet specifications
• Performs basic maintenance on lasers and accessories, reporting scheduled maintenance needs to the supervisor
• Performs calculations using decimals and fractions
• Upholds quality management system policies and procedures to meet corporate goals and customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory requirements
• Abides by OSHA regulations, safety standards, and company policies
• Follows inspection guidelines per ASQ ANSI Z1.4 AQL 2.5 C equals 0, performing 100 percent inspection on rejected lots unless otherwise specified

Training Requirements

• Must be able to assemble and test complex components using detailed instructions to customer specifications
• Experience in blueprint reading and the use of machine shop hand measuring tools

Related Experience and Education

• Minimum of one year of related job experience in manufacturing, assembly, or mechanical production

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, exceptional math skills, and strong organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with high attention to detail and analytical background including manufacturing principles
• Good work ethic, flexibility to work any shift, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
