Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC)

Join a successful and growing Architecture and Engineering firm as a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in HVAC. This role focuses on mechanical design for small to medium commercial projects such as restaurants and retail spaces, blending technical execution with coordination and project management. Reporting to a Senior Engineer, you will contribute primarily through design and production, working within small teams to deliver high-quality mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC system design, including heat load calculations, system layout, and duct sizing
• Prepare technical construction documents, including drawings and specifications
• Conduct engineering calculations to support system designs
• Collaborate with senior engineers to execute assigned project duties effectively
• Balance project deadlines and budgets while maintaining quality standards
• Assist in project coordination and limited project management activities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design engineering
• EIT preferred
• Proficient in HVAC system design and engineering calculations
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2010 or newer
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to communicate fluently in English

Preferred Qualifications

• FE/EIT certification
• Experience with Revit software
• On the path to Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
