Draftsman

Elmwood, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Draftsman with 3–5 years of experience to create detailed models, drawings, and fabrication documentation for machine shop and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion and have experience producing accurate technical drawings for machinists and fabricators.

Essential Duties:
• Create and modify 3D models of parts using SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion.
• Develop detailed prints and technical drawings for manufacturing and fabrication.
• Create and work with assembly drawings and models.
• Prepare accurate cut lists for fabrication and production.
• Produce sheet metal bend drawings and related fabrication documentation.
• Develop shop drawings for machinists and fabricators to use during production.
• Ensure drawings include accurate dimensions, specifications, and manufacturing details.
• Coordinate with shop personnel to address drawing questions and support fabrication and machining activities.
• Revise drawings and models as needed based on production requirements.

Requirements/Skills:
• 3–5 years of drafting, mechanical design, or related experience.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion.
• Experience creating detailed mechanical and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of assemblies, sheet metal components, bend drawings, and cut lists.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, dimensions, and specifications.
• Understanding of machining and fabrication processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with machinists, fabricators, and other shop personnel.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive computer and drafting-related tasks.
• Ability to occasionally walk through machine shop and fabrication environments as required.
• Ability to visually inspect drawings, models, parts, and fabrication details for accuracy.
