Location: Lincoln, NE 68504
Pay Rate: $20.00-$23.00 per hour (pay is dependent on experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM



About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Lincoln, NE. The ideal candidate will have hands-on phlebotomy experience, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position works closely with providers and patients to support high-quality, coordinated care.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient intake, including measuring and recording vital signs, conducting patient interviews, and obtaining medical histories.
  • Perform examinations and routine screenings while ensuring patients understand each procedure and have their questions and concerns addressed.
  • Perform phlebotomy and blood draws with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Critically listen and engage with patients throughout appointments, identifying changes in condition and communicating concerns to PCPs, specialists, and other clinical personnel.
  • Provide exceptional patient service by processing phone messages, returning patient calls, routing calls appropriately, and contacting patients to obtain or relay pertinent information for providers.
  • Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures under physician supervision.
  • Utilize CPR skills when necessary and within the scope of training.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, legal, and ethical.
  • Provide health coaching to an assigned group of patients to encourage healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Follow up with coached patients through weekly telephone outreach.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate effectively with providers, clinical staff, patients, families, and other healthcare partners.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required.
  • At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience highly desired.
  • Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including staff, providers, members, family members, insurance carriers, vendors, and leadership.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative healthcare environment.
