Job Description
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a large employee population in San Jose, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong experience managing end-to-end payroll in a multi-state environment and can maintain precision while handling high-volume processing. The role will work with payroll systems, employee records, and compliance requirements to ensure consistent execution and reliable service.

Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll from data review through final disbursement for a workforce of more than 500 employees.
• Administer payroll activities across multiple states while applying appropriate wage, tax, and compliance requirements.
• Use ADP Workforce Now to enter, validate, and maintain payroll information, deductions, earnings, and employee updates.
• Review payroll data for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues before payroll submission deadlines.
• Reconcile payroll reports, balances, and supporting records to confirm complete and accurate processing each cycle.
• Coordinate with HR, finance, and employees to address payroll questions, timekeeping matters, and record changes.
• Maintain payroll documentation and support audit readiness by ensuring files and reports are organized and current.
• Assist with payroll-related process updates or system-related changes when needed as part of ongoing operations.• Demonstrated experience processing full-cycle payroll independently in a high-volume setting.
• Background managing multi-state payroll with a solid understanding of related compliance considerations.
• Hands-on proficiency with ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing and employee data maintenance.
• Experience supporting payroll for organizations with more than 500 employees.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct payroll discrepancies efficiently.
• Working knowledge of payroll regulations, deductions, taxes, and standard reporting practices.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and respond to employee inquiries.
