Heavy Civil Construction Manager

We're partnering with a well-established and growing heavy civil construction contractor seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the successful execution of large-scale infrastructure and civil construction projects.

This is not a desk job. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in the field, can lead crews, manage costs, solve problems, and keep projects moving safely and efficiently from groundbreaking through completion.

As the senior field leader on-site, you'll play a critical role in project performance, workforce leadership, safety compliance, budget management, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all day-to-day field operations on assigned projects
  • Oversee labor productivity, manpower planning, and project execution
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, quantities, and installed costs
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documentation
  • Track and document change orders, delays, claims, and field conditions
  • Manage purchasing activities within approved budgets
  • Maintain accurate project reports, schedules, cost tracking, and daily logs
  • Review and submit progress quantities and billing information
  • Partner closely with Project Managers and Regional Operations leadership
  • Promote and enforce OSHA, company, and client safety standards
  • Drive project completion while maintaining quality, profitability, and client expectations
What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years of supervisory experience in heavy civil construction
  • Proven experience leading large field operations and project teams
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining project momentum
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Engineering degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and field experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required by project demands
