What’s a typical day as Analytical Development Scientist? You’ll be:
  • Design and optimize analytical experiments utilizing cell-based assays, ELISA, HPLC, and electrophoresis to evaluate protein-based products.
  • Independently apply scientific judgment to interpret test results and resolve challenges encountered during method development or routine analysis.
  • Lead studies focused on validation, method transfer, and process support, acting as the primary point of contact for these projects.
  • Supervise and mentor junior laboratory staff, reviewing their work and ensuring accurate documentation of experimental data.
  • Collaborate regularly with interdisciplinary groups, including project management, process development, and quality control, to ensure effective project execution.
  • Prepare comprehensive data summaries, graphical presentations, and technical reports for senior team members and external clients.
  • Author and update operating procedures, test methods, and laboratory documentation in compliance with established guidelines.
  • Take ownership as subject matter expert to assist quality control, provide technical guidance, and support regulatory readiness.
  • Participate in regulatory and quality audits, maintaining both company and industry standards for cGMP and compliance.
  • Contribute to laboratory initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, maintaining best practices, and implementing new technologies.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
  • Hold a BS degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field (required).
  • Have 8+ years of biotech industry experience working in a QC or analytical laboratory setting.
  • Possess hands-on experience with HPLC, CE, Potency/ELISA, protein characterization, electrophoresis, chromatography, and assay validation/qualification.
  • Are skilled in analytical biochemistry methods, report/procedure/specification writing, GMP compliance, and regulatory audits.
  • Demonstrate strong scientific reasoning, multitasking abilities, and can work independently to make sound decisions.
