A leading manufacturing facility in Sacramento is seeking an experienced Machinist with strong hands-on experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders. This position is ideal for a skilled machinist who can independently set up and operate traditional machining equipment and produce precision parts to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate manual lathes, milling machines, and grinding equipment
- Set up machines and select appropriate tooling for machining operations
- Machine and fabricate precision parts according to specifications
- Grind dies and components to required dimensions and tolerances
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and measurements
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Perform basic calculations and measurements to ensure accuracy
- Inspect finished parts and make necessary adjustments
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing standards
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of hands-on machining experience
- MUST have manual lathe experience
- MUST have manual milling machine experience
- MUST have grinding experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment and machining issues
- Ability to read blueprints and work from precise specifications
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Strong understanding of machining tolerances and dimensions
- CNC experience is a plus, but this position is primarily focused on manual machining
- Manufacturing, industrial, tool & die, or similar machining background preferred
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs. and stand for extended periods
