Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Family Medicine | Full-Time Days
Location: Newport, NH 03773
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Start Date: September 21, 2026
Shift: Days | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Monday/Wednesday: Possible schedule extension until 7:00 PM
Weekends: None; holiday coverage if required
On-Call: None
Pay: $21.19 – $32.85/hr
Position Summary
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support a busy Family Medicine practice in an outpatient setting. The Medical Assistant will provide both clinical and administrative support, assist providers with patient care, and ensure a safe and efficient patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients and notify the appropriate provider.
- Prepare patients, examination rooms, and equipment for procedures.
- Obtain and document vital signs.
- Administer injections and perform basic diagnostic tests.
- Assist providers with examinations and treatments.
- Collect specimens and perform blood draws.
- Handle patient calls and schedule appointments and procedures.
- Register new patients and maintain accurate medical records.
- Assist with billing, insurance forms, and other documentation.
- Provide patients with instructions for procedures and treatments.
- Operate and maintain clinical equipment.
- Maintain aseptic technique and follow sterilization/disinfection procedures.
- Clean, wrap, and autoclave instruments.
- Maintain examination rooms, supplies, and equipment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program – Required
- Current CMA, RMA, or qualifying CCMA certification – Required
- AAMA – CMA
- AMT – RMA
- CCMA with required D-H apprenticeship
- Previous office or outpatient/ambulatory care experience – Strongly Preferred
- AHA BLS Certification – Required
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
