Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 3+ years of L&D experience and a ND or compact RN license.

Details\n

\n
• Acute care Labor & Delivery unit with 19 beds
\n
• Care for L&D patients including high-risk deliveries, postpartum mom and baby, and gyn surgical postop patients
\n
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, and 1:4 for gyn patients (combined ratios of 1:5-6)
\n
• Utilizes fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, and vital signs monitors
\n
• OBIX documentation and centralized monitoring used for L&D, EPIC used for gyn charting
\n
• 12-hour night shifts with occasional day shifts required
\n
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
\n
• Floating to newborn nursery and NICU required as needed
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license (ND or Compact) required
\n
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
\n
• Minimum 3 years of experience in L&D, Postpartum, and Gyn care required
\n
• Fetal monitoring experience required
\n
• STABLE certification preferred but not required
\n

• Provide nursing care during delivery for high-risk and standard L&D patients, postpartum mom and baby care, and gyn surgical postop care
\n
• 36 hours of unit-specific orientation provided for travelers
\n
• Navy blue scrubs required for gyn and mom/baby care areas, hospital-provided scrubs for L&D
\n
• Badge in and out required at facility
\n
• Candidates with previous employment at this health system must have an end date at least 6 months prior to application
\n
• Local candidates within 80 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
