The Clinical Dietitian provides comprehensive clinical nutrition services to residents of the nursing home and assisted living program, as well as patients throughout the medical center. The dietitian may provide coverage across the hospital, cardiac rehabilitation, cancer center, outpatient services, and other areas as needed.
\nWorking under the supervision of the AVP of Support and Professional Services, the Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing day-to-day nutritional care, supporting patient and resident outcomes, and providing clinical guidance to foodservice staff.
\nKey Responsibilities\n

- Provide clinical nutrition assessment and care to residents and patients. \n
- Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans. \n
- Monitor nutritional status and make appropriate recommendations based on patient/resident needs. \n
- Provide nutrition support across long-term care, assisted living, hospital, cardiac rehabilitation, cancer center, and outpatient settings. \n
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, providers, foodservice staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. \n
- Serve as a liaison between providers, nursing staff, residents/patients, and foodservice personnel. \n
- Provide clinical nutrition support and guidance to foodservice employees. \n
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. \n
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, residents, families, and staff as appropriate. \n
- Ensure compliance with applicable clinical, nutritional, and foodservice standards. \n
- Maintain current knowledge of The Joint Commission, New York State Department of Health, CMS, and other applicable regulatory requirements. \n
- Support quality improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives. \n

- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential required \n
- Master’s degree preferred \n
- Clinical nutrition experience preferred, particularly in long-term care, hospital, or healthcare settings \n
- Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition assessment and care planning. \n
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. \n
- Ability to work across multiple healthcare settings and patient populations. \n
- Willingness to float to Alice Hyde Medical Center for vacation coverage as needed. \n
The ideal candidate is a Registered Dietitian with strong clinical nutrition skills who is comfortable working across long-term care, acute care, outpatient, and specialty settings.
