Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a combined Med/Surg and ER position requiring a NE or compact license and multiple specialty certifications.

Details\n

\n
• Cross-trained role covering Med/Surg, ER, LDR, and Nursery units
\n
• Responsible for total patient care when assigned to any of these areas
\n
• Provides direct patient care in the Emergency Room following demonstration of competence
\n
• Provides obstetrical care through labor, delivery, and post-partum stages after demonstration of competence
\n
• Provides newborn care
\n
• Uses electronic health system with barcode scanning for medication administration
\n
• Shift is 5p-5a, 3 days per week (36 hours)
\n
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active NE or compact RN license required
\n
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience required
\n
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
\n
• Current certifications required: CPR/BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, and TNCC
\n
• Strong communication skills required
\n

• Performs nursing care including administering treatments, medications, and assisting with examinations
\n
• Assists physicians and nursing team in planning, providing, and evaluating patient care
\n
• Documents and transcribes physician orders and maintains accurate patient records
\n
• Assists in training and orientation of new employees
\n
• Participates in Quality Assurance activities and required in-service programs
\n
• Neat, clean uniform required for patient care
\n
• Indoor, smoke-free patient care environment with frequent exposure to biohazardous materials and communicable diseases
