American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele/Swing Bed position requiring a ND or compact license and at least 1 year of telemetry experience.

- Acute care hospital setting on a Med-Tele Acute/Observation and Swing Bed unit \n
- 19-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3-6 \n
- Common diagnoses include pneumonia, COPD, CHF, pancreatitis, and GI bleed, as well as rehab and swingbed patients \n
- Uses MEDITECH EMR \n
- Mindray telemetry monitors used; RNs must read their own strips \n
- No dedicated charge nurse or tele/monitor tech on the unit \n
- One CNA per shift assists with personal care, vitals, and weights \n
- RNs set up and manage BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula equipment \n
- 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p) with team scheduling \n
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required \n
- Floating required to Med/Tele Acute, Observation, and Swing Bed units \n
- No on-call or standby requirements \n
- No drip titration required \n
- \n
- Active ND or Compact RN license required \n
- Current BLS and ACLS certification required \n
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required \n
- Competency with IV starts, telemetry, NG tube, and foley catheter insertion required \n
- Must be comfortable reading own telemetry strips \n
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration \n

- May be part of the code team on the unit \n
- Unit known for strong teamwork and a positive culture \n
- Success on this unit favors dependable, caring, knowledgeable, and flexible nurses \n
- Unit-specific orientation typically consists of 3-4 twelve-hour shifts \n
- Must provide own scrubs; any color accepted \n
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and may not have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and Dignity, within the past year \n
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved \n
