Position Summary
Eudaimonia Recovery Homes is seeking a Live-In Resident Assistant to provide a consistent evening and overnight presence within our men’s sober living community. This position supports residents, completes curfew checks and safety rounds, responds to concerns, and helps maintain a safe, structured, recovery-focused living environment.
Living onsite is a required part of this position. The selected candidate will receive a private room as part of the compensation package and must be available for scheduled shifts and occasional after-hours call-outs in accordance with the live-in employment agreement.

Pay: $13-15.00/hour; plus a semi/private room valued at approximately $1,600 per month
Schedule: Tues 1p-11p, Fri, Sat, Mon 3p-11pm
Travel: Occasional travel to other Nova locations in Texas may be required

Your Role as a Resident Care Assistant
As a Resident Care Assistant (RCA), you will help create a structured and safe recovery environment while monitoring, guiding, and supporting clients in their daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Supervision + Program Support
Ensure clients attend scheduled program activities
Provide guidance, direction, and redirection as needed
Serve as a positive role model and support the client’s recovery process
Safety + Facility Oversight
Conduct routine facility rounds and report any issues
Recognize crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions
Enforce Nova Recovery’s safety policies and procedures
Communication + Documentation
Accurately document all relevant client interactions in Lightning Step
Maintain frequent communication with supervisors regarding client behavior
Prepare and distribute group attendance reports
Professionalism + Ethics
Maintain confidentiality regarding clients and staff
Represent Nova Recovery Center in a professional and positive manner
Follow Nova’s Code of Ethical Conduct and uphold workplace standards
Essential Responsibilities
Work assigned shifts in full and follow all established residence protocols.
Complete nightly curfew checks for all residents.
Conduct scheduled safety and wellness rounds throughout the property.
Build appropriate relationships with residents through regular, documented interactions, with additional attention given to residents during their first 30 days.
Administer drug and alcohol testing when required and in accordance with company procedures.
Complete shift handoffs and communicate relevant resident or property concerns to incoming staff.
Document incidents and other reportable events before the end of the shift.
Immediately escalate urgent safety, behavioral, or resident concerns to the Operations Manager.
Help ensure residents are awake and prepared for required weekday programming.
Maintain possession of the duty phone and remain reachable throughout the assigned shift.
Support compliance with community expectations, policies, and sober living requirements.
Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident confidentiality.
Position Limitations
The Resident Assistant does not have the authority to issue formal violations, make discharge decisions, or transport residents in a personal vehicle. These matters must be referred to the Operations Manager.
What You Need to Apply
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact warmly and professionally while maintaining boundaries
Technology Skills: Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic documentation tools
Reliability + Adaptability: Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Valid Texas Driver’s License + Clean Driving Record (required for company vehicle use)
Ability to Work in a Fast-Paced Environment and handle high-pressure situations calmly
Dependable, responsible, and comfortable working independently.
Able to maintain professional boundaries while building trust with residents.
Strong communication, documentation, and conflict-resolution skills.
Able to respond calmly and appropriately during urgent or unexpected situations.
Work Environment + Physical Demands
This position requires work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, and humidity. Additional job demands include:
Standing + Walking for extended periods
Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 20 lbs.)
Frequent use of computers, phones, and office equipment
