Fitter Fabricator

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Friday

We are seeking experienced Fitter Fabricators to join our team in Durham, NC. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with welding, fabrication, fitting, blueprint interpretation, and assembling metal components.
Key Responsibilities - Perform welding and metal fabrication according to specifications and blueprints.
- Fit and assemble fabricated metal components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Measure, align, position, clamp, and tack components prior to welding.
- Maintain proper fit-up and alignment of components.
- Perform grinding, cutting, and other fabrication-related tasks.
- Use welding and fabrication tools and equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow quality and safety standards.
- Work effectively as part of a fabrication team.
- Previous hands-on welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience with fitting and assembling fabricated components.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to accurately measure, position, and align components.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work Monday–Friday, 1st shift.
- Reliable transportation.
Candidates will complete a weld test and fit test as part of the hiring process.
Weld Test:
- 1/4-inch flat-position weld test.
Fit Test:
- Candidate will receive a blueprint and a set of parts.
- Candidate will interpret the blueprint and assemble the components correctly.
- Candidate will perform tack welds to secure the assembly.
A higher-level candidate may be considered for a second-in-command/lead-level role.
Candidates with previous shop leadership or Lead Welder experience may be eligible for compensation of up to $28/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Training The weld test and initial training will take place in Raleigh, NC. Candidates may spend approximately two weeks in Raleigh for training before transitioning to the Durham location as the facility is finalized.
