Skilled Shop Assistant – Streator, IL
Pay: $18
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
Position Overview
This role supports a sheetmetal manufacturing environment. Candidates should have a basic mechanical skill set and a willingness to learn. The position involves working with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment while following blueprints and measurements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate basic shop tools and equipment
- Read and interpret tape measurements accurately
- Assist with sheet metal tasks and machine operations
- Follow blueprints and job specifications
- Maintain a safe and organized work area
- Support machinists and brake/shear operators as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Experience with hand and power tools
- Familiarity with sheet metal or blueprint reading is a plus
