New Hope Community Church is a healthy, growing Free Methodist congregation in Walton, New York. The church has an average worship attendance of approximately 165 weekly attendees and is known for its community engagement. The church is financially stable, debt-free, and enthusiastic about its next season of ministry and growth.

About the Ministry

The Senior Pastor will oversee a healthy, community-focused church with various ministries supported by strong lay leaders who carry significant ministry responsibility. Internal ministry will focus on equipping and coaching these leaders while strengthening external partnerships with local schools and the wider community.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a relational, community-minded leader who embraces Wesleyan theology and has a demonstrated ability to develop leaders, make disciples, and build ministries for long-term growth. This candidate will bring a heart for ministry, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to invest deeply in both the congregation and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities

Preach & Teach:

• Effectively communicate the Word of God and incorporate practical life application

Lead:

• Regularly work with leadership boards, ministry teams, and community partners

• Expand the strategic mission to develop disciples who make disciples

• Nurture and develop leaders within the church to carry out the Church’s mission

Connect:

• Build community partnerships in small to midsize communities.

• Expand community capacity that aligns with the mission of the church

• Promote the global-local mission of the church

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and relational skills

• Ability to make connections within the community

• Desire to build upon a successful ministry

• Understand and embrace a Wesleyan Theological perspective

• Embrace the beliefs of the Free Methodist Church and the Acts 12:24 Conference
