MIG Welder: Machesney Park, Illinois
Our customer in Machesney Park, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting MIG Welders to work fulltime on 1st shift. As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for welding and fabricating metal components while maintaining quality, accuracy, and safety standards.
Responsibilities of the MIG Welder:
- Work from engineering drawings and Bill of Materials to fabricate parts within target times.
- Accurately measure and lay out holes and locations for welded components.
- Adjust welding equipment to accommodate varying thicknesses of steel.
- Operate MIG welder, grinders, drills, and a variety of hand and power tools.
- Use measuring devices to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts (if certified).
- Complete required paperwork, records, and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Assist with training new employees as needed.
- May travel to customer facilities to perform service work.
MIG Welder Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of trade training or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, bills of materials, and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to work in environments with noise, heat, fumes, and airborne particles.
Pay for MIG Welder: $20.00–$25.00/hour.
