Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for an Emergency Department (ER) assignment in Syracuse, NY. The CNA will provide patient-centered care while supporting nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients’ comfort, safety, and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and promptly report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and transportation within the Emergency Department.
• Collect and document patient information and specimens as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient-care environment.
• Assist with stocking medical supplies and preparing treatment areas.
• Provide compassionate and respectful care to patients throughout the assignment.
• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection-control standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active New York CNA certification.
• Previous Emergency Department/ER experience required.
• Ability to work night shifts and variable schedules.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, transfer, and assist patients as needed.
• Commitment to completing the full 13-week assignment.
