  • Usually, a Bachelor's degree in an environmental or STEM-related field, such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Chemical Engineering, is required or alternatively having a Civil Engineering degree along with two (2) years of relevant work experience
  • Five years of experience in state environmental reporting, permit upkeep and compliance, as well as hazardous waste management and monitoring.
  • Compliance management and universal waste monitoring. Managing non-hazardous waste and monitoring compliance.
  • Interaction with, and exposure to, VDEQ personnel and regulations.
  • CHMM certification; EIT or EI certification, or PE licensure.
  • Having experience with government clients in permit writing and ensuring government compliance.
  • Collaborating with operational departments to discuss and establish the responsibilities of the Environmental Engineer, including issues like the central accumulation area, satellite accumulation area, and comprehensive hazardous and non-hazardous waste management.
  •  Gathering and submitting application and modification forms, as necessary. Collaborating with regulatory bodies to ensure comprehension and adherence to all relevant environmental laws and standards.
  •  Taking part in environmental audits and inspections.  Gathering specimens and submitting reports, along with the fulfillment of evidence chains and the identification or familiarity with suitable storage containers.
