Usually, a Bachelor's degree in an environmental or STEM-related field, such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Chemical Engineering, is required or alternatively having a Civil Engineering degree along with two (2) years of relevant work experience
Five years of experience in state environmental reporting, permit upkeep and compliance, as well as hazardous waste management and monitoring.
Compliance management and universal waste monitoring. Managing non-hazardous waste and monitoring compliance.
Interaction with, and exposure to, VDEQ personnel and regulations.
CHMM certification; EIT or EI certification, or PE licensure.
Having experience with government clients in permit writing and ensuring government compliance.
Collaborating with operational departments to discuss and establish the responsibilities of the Environmental Engineer, including issues like the central accumulation area, satellite accumulation area, and comprehensive hazardous and non-hazardous waste management.
Gathering and submitting application and modification forms, as necessary. Collaborating with regulatory bodies to ensure comprehension and adherence to all relevant environmental laws and standards.
Taking part in environmental audits and inspections. Gathering specimens and submitting reports, along with the fulfillment of evidence chains and the identification or familiarity with suitable storage containers.
