Bear Creek Family Medicine is a new, locally owned family medicine practice opening in Keller, Texas. We are looking for an experienced, dependable, and personable Medical Assistant to join our team and help us build a practice centered around excellent patient care and a welcoming, personal experience.

As a small, growing practice, this position is ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of the clinic and wants to play an important role in helping the practice grow. We are looking for someone who is proactive, organized, comfortable working independently, and genuinely enjoys taking care of patients.

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will work directly with the provider and assist with both clinical and day-to-day office responsibilities, including:

• Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
• Reviewing and updating medications, allergies, and medical history
• Preparing patients for examinations and procedures
• Performing EKGs, point-of-care testing, and other in-office testing
• Administering injections and medications as appropriate
• Assisting with minor procedures
• Collecting and preparing specimens
• Preparing exam rooms and maintaining clinical supplies
• Managing prescription refill requests and patient messages
• Communicating results and provider instructions to patients
• Assisting with referrals, prior authorizations, and medical records
• Scheduling appointments and answering phones as needed
• Maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Helping maintain an organized, efficient, and welcoming clinic
• Assisting with additional responsibilities as the practice grows

What We're Looking For

• Previous Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred
• Family medicine or primary care experience preferred
• Comfortable with injections, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and clinical procedures
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Reliable, punctual, and organized
• Comfortable working in a smaller practice where teamwork and flexibility are important
• Able to prioritize tasks and work independently when needed
• Friendly and professional with patients of all ages
• Comfortable learning new systems and workflows
• Someone who takes initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done

Schedule

Monday–Thursday: Approximately 7:45 AM–4:30 PM (Lunch 12:30 to 1:30)
Friday: Approximately 7:45 AM–12:30 PM

No weekends.
