Duties

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in a family practice setting.
  • Take and record vital signs accurately while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining medical histories and performing initial assessments.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration under supervision, and basic life support (BLS) procedures.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring precise documentation of patient encounters, medical histories, and medical records management.
  • Support administrative functions including patient intake, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining medical documentation.
  • Assist with specimen collection, processing lab samples, and supporting outpatient procedures as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols in clinic setting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate referrals and prior authorizations.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital settings with exposure to specialties like dermatology, internal medicine, or emergency medicine.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and EMR/EHR systems management.
  • Hands-on experience with phlebotomy techniques and medication administration within a clinical environment.
  • Strong background supporting medical office tasks such as appointment scheduling and medical records organization.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • Excellent patient service skills combined with a proactive approach to healthcare delivery ensure positive patient interactions every time.
