Schedule: Monday-Friday, On Site 5 Days Per Week
Employment Type: W2 Temp-to-hire Assignment with high potential for extension and conversion to FTE based on business needs
Analytical Chemist Position Summary
This position is part of the Analytical Chemistry team supporting a global medical technology company’s Infection Prevention products. The Analytical Chemist will perform laboratory testing and provide analytical chemistry support for both products currently on the market and new product development. The role focuses on pharmaceutical analytical chemistry, including wet-chemistry and instrumental testing, stability testing, analytical method development and validation, and review of laboratory data. The position also requires maintaining accurate GMP documentation and working with teams across Quality, Manufacturing, and Regulatory to support product and process changes.
Analytical Chemist Responsibilities
- Perform analytical chemistry testing to support products currently on the market and new product development.
- Conduct hands-on wet-chemistry and instrumental testing using techniques including pH, titration, UV-Vis, GC, and HPLC.
- Perform stability testing to support the evaluation and approval of product and process design changes.
- Support the development and validation of analytical methods for incoming raw materials, in-process materials, and finished product release testing.
- Review and enter laboratory data, evaluate test results, and identify potential issues or inconsistencies.
- Prepare and maintain scientific protocols, technical reports, and other laboratory documentation.
- Troubleshoot analytical and laboratory issues and assist with identifying appropriate solutions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, records, and general laboratory operations.
- Follow applicable FDA requirements, GMP standards, and established laboratory procedures.
- Communicate analytical results and scientific findings with Regulatory, Manufacturing, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.
- Manage multiple laboratory activities while maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
Analytical Chemist Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, or a related scientific discipline.
- 2-4 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical chemistry.
- Hands-on experience with wet-chemistry and instrumental analytical techniques.
- Experience with pH, titration, UV-Vis, GC, and HPLC.
- Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment.
- Knowledge of GMP documentation requirements.
- Understanding of standard scientific methods, laboratory techniques, and analytical chemistry principles.
- Strong scientific writing and technical documentation skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot analytical issues and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and priorities in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to interpret and follow written, verbal, diagram-based, and schedule-based instructions.
Analytical Chemist Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with analytical method development and validation.
- Experience writing scientific protocols and technical reports.
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical, medical device, or other regulated product development.
- Experience collaborating with Regulatory, Manufacturing, Quality, or other cross-functional teams.
- Ability to effectively communicate scientific strategies, analytical results, and technical findings.
