Key Responsibilities

• Loading and Unloading: Swiftly load outbound shipments and unload inbound inventory or returned goods by hand or using equipment. [1, 2, 3]
• Shipment Verification: Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for damage, count quantities, and check items against shipping documents or manifests. [1, 2, 3]
• Equipment Operation: Use tools like manual hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts to transport heavy items safely. [1, 2, 3]
• Inventory Organization: Sort, stack, and place products in designated warehouse shelving or staging areas. [1, 2, 3]
• Safety and Maintenance: Follow strict safety guidelines, wear proper protective gear, and keep the loading dock clean and free of hazards. [1, 2, 3]

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy items (often 50 lbs or more) for long periods.
• Skills: Basic reading, math, and communication skills to track inventory and coordinate with team members and drivers.
• Certifications (Preferred): Forklift or powered pallet jack certification is often a plus. [1, 2, 3]
