- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Possible Extended Hours: Until 7:00 PM on Mondays and/or Wednesdays
- Weekends: None; holiday coverage may be required
- On-Call: None
Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a Family Medicine / outpatient clinic in Newport, New Hampshire.
The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to providers and patients, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures, administering injections, collecting specimens, performing basic diagnostic testing, and maintaining examination rooms and clinical equipment.
This is a great opportunity for a Medical Assistant looking for a stable, full-time weekday position in an outpatient family medicine setting.
-> Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients and prepare them for appointments.
- Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer injections as directed.
- Collect and process routine laboratory specimens.
- Perform basic diagnostic testing.
- Draw blood as permitted by scope of practice.
- Handle patient calls and schedule appointments and procedures.
- Recognize urgent patient situations and notify appropriate clinical staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Assist patients with forms and other administrative needs.
- Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms.
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and maintain instruments and clinical equipment.
- Follow appropriate infection-control and aseptic techniques.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
-> Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program – Required.
- Current qualifying Medical Assistant credential, including one of the following:
- CMA – AAMA
- RMA – AMT
- CCMA with required Dartmouth Health apprenticeship
- AHA BLS certification – Required.
- Previous experience in an office, physician practice, outpatient, ambulatory care, or family medicine setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
