- Pay: $21.19-$32.85/hour (Based on experience) + Benefits
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Possible Extended Hours: Until 7:00 PM on Mondays and/or Wednesdays
- Weekends: None; holiday coverage may be required
- On-Call: None
Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support its Family Medicine practice with dedicated pediatric support.
The Medical Assistant will provide both clinical and administrative support, including patient intake, vital signs, room preparation, injections, specimen collection, phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and assisting providers with examinations and procedures.
*Pediatric experience is required for this position.*
-> Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients and prepare them for appointments.
- Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs and communicate concerns to providers.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Administer injections as directed.
- Collect and process routine laboratory specimens.
- Perform basic clinical diagnostic testing.
- Draw blood and perform other approved clinical procedures.
- Handle patient calls, schedule appointments, and escalate clinical concerns appropriately.
- Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Assist patients with insurance and other forms.
- Maintain clean and organized examination rooms.
- Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and autoclave instruments as required.
- Follow appropriate aseptic technique and infection-control procedures.
- Maintain clinical equipment and supplies.
- Recognize and appropriately respond to urgent or emergency patient situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
-> Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program – Required.
- Current qualifying Medical Assistant certification/registration:
- CMA through AAMA, OR
- RMA through AMT, OR
- CCMA with required 12-month Dartmouth Health apprenticeship.
- Pediatric experience – Required.
- AHA BLS certification – Required.
- Previous experience in an outpatient, ambulatory care, physician office, or clinical practice setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
