We are seeking an experienced and dedicated General Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) for a contract opportunity within an emergency healthcare staffing environment. The selected candidate will perform diagnostic imaging procedures and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent patient-care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols.
- Prepare and position patients accurately for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Review images for technical quality and ensure appropriate studies are completed before submission.
- Follow radiation safety standards and maintain compliance with ALARA principles.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures and patient information.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Explain imaging procedures to patients and address questions or concerns.
- Monitor patients for safety and provide appropriate support throughout the imaging process.
- Follow infection prevention, patient privacy, and facility safety policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly functioning imaging environment.
- Perform other duties within the scope of practice as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Active and unrestricted Radiologic Technologist license, as required by the assignment location.
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography preferred or required, depending on state and facility requirements.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Previous experience as a General Radiologic Technologist in a clinical, hospital, or emergency setting.
- Strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, patient positioning, and radiation safety.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication, patient-care, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in emergency, acute care, or high-volume hospital environments.
- Experience with portable radiography and trauma imaging.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record and radiology information systems.
