Synagogue Assistant - Student Rabbi (Part-time)

SUMMARY: Providing spiritual and religious support to residents/patients during the Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.Reports To: Director, Pastoral ServicesTitles Supervised: N/AHours Per Week: Part-time, Every other Sabbath Holidays DUTIESEssential Responsibilities:1.Assist in leading Synagogue services for Sabbath and major Jewish holidays.2.Conduct religious programming for Sabbath and major Jewish holidays for all residents/patients.3.Provide pastoral visits and counseling for residents/patients.4.Assist Director of Pastoral Services in providing the spiritual environment appropriate for Sabbath and Jewish holidays.5.Other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor of Arts or SciencesExperience: At least 3 years of experience in Jewish communal serviceLicensure: Valid driver's license Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Knowledge of Jewish practices related to Synagogue, dietary laws, and Jewish holidays; to read Hebrew; ability to read communicate effectively including public speaking; ability to meet multiple demands and to perform job requirements on time.This description of responsibilities is intended to reflect the major responsibilities and duties of the job, but is not intended to describe minor duties or other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
