We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Regional Director of Business Development to oversee hospital liaison and business development efforts for our skilled nursing facilities throughout the Cincinnati and Dayton markets.
This is a regional leadership position responsible for developing and strengthening relationships with hospitals, health systems, physicians, discharge planners, case managers, social workers, and other referral partners. The Regional Director will provide strategic direction to facility-level hospital liaisons while helping drive census growth, referral development, market share, and overall business performance.
The ideal candidate understands the post-acute healthcare environment and knows how to build meaningful relationships within hospitals and health systems. This person will work closely with facility Administrators, Directors of Nursing, hospital liaisons, and clinical leadership to ensure a strong transition-of-care process and an exceptional experience for referral partners, residents, and families.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide regional leadership and oversight for hospital liaison and business development activities across Cincinnati and Dayton.
Develop and execute regional business development strategies designed to increase referrals, admissions, census, and market share.
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, health systems, physicians, case managers, discharge planners, social workers, ACOs, payers, and other referral sources.
Lead, coach, mentor, and support facility-level hospital liaisons and business development representatives.
Establish clear expectations, goals, activity standards, and performance metrics for the business development team.
Monitor referral trends, admission opportunities, conversion rates, census, payer mix, and market activity.
Identify new referral opportunities and develop strategies to expand the organization's presence within targeted hospitals and healthcare systems.
Conduct regular market analysis to identify competitive trends, referral patterns, service gaps, and growth opportunities.
Partner with facility Administrators and clinical leadership to address barriers to admissions and strengthen relationships with referral sources.
Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure facilities are positioned to appropriately meet the needs of hospital referrals.
Participate in hospital meetings, networking events, community events, and healthcare organization meetings.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers and referral influencers.
Ensure hospital liaisons maintain consistent visibility and engagement within assigned hospitals.
Review business development activity and results regularly and develop action plans when performance is below expectations.
Share market intelligence and referral trends with executive and facility leadership.
Support the development of marketing materials, presentations, facility profiles, and other business development resources.
Coordinate regional initiatives designed to improve referral conversion and admission outcomes.
Work closely with admissions and clinical teams to ensure timely communication and follow-up on referral opportunities.
Help ensure a seamless transition from hospital to skilled nursing facility.
Promote the organization's services, clinical capabilities, specialized programs, and value proposition to referral partners.
Represent the organization professionally within the healthcare community.
Travel throughout the Cincinnati and Dayton markets to support facilities and referral relationships.
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, marketing, nursing, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in healthcare business development, hospital relations, skilled nursing, post-acute care, or healthcare sales.
Experience working directly with hospitals, health systems, case management, discharge planning, or referral development strongly preferred.
Previous experience leading or managing hospital liaisons or business development representatives preferred.
Strong understanding of the skilled nursing and post-acute healthcare referral process.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong hospital and healthcare system relationships.
Proven track record of driving census growth, referrals, admissions, or market development.
Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to analyze business development data and translate results into actionable strategies.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple facilities and priorities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with facility and regional leadership.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
