Patient Service Representative – Norwood & Norfolk Locations
Eye Care Specialists is seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized Patient Service Representative to join our team. This position will work at both our Norwood and Norfolk locations and will include a combination of front desk and call center responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience
- Check patients in and out for appointments
- Answer a high volume of incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments
- Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, office locations, and general practice information
- Route calls and patient messages to the appropriate provider or department
- Make outbound calls as needed for appointment scheduling, confirmations, and follow-up
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
- Collect copayments and patient balances
- Assist with referrals and insurance-related information
- Document patient calls and messages accurately in the electronic medical record
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, clinical staff, and other departments
- Help manage incoming patient requests and ensure messages are handled in a timely manner
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
- Assist with additional front desk and administrative duties as needed
- Excellent customer service, telephone, and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of calls and patient requests
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office environment
- Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong computer and data-entry skills
- Previous medical office, call center, scheduling, or receptionist experience is preferred but not required
- Experience with electronic medical records, insurance verification, and medical terminology is a plus
