Lead Painter

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school diploma (or equivalent);
2. Three to five months maintenance experience (or related) or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position
3. Meets the necessary health and physical qualifications; and
4. Maintains current Tennessee driver's

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Oversee painting job through the district
2. Make sure staff is completing all jobs necessary
3. Ensure proper OSHA safety requirements are being upheld/followed by all
4. Report any issues or concerns to Maintenance Manager
5. Ensure completion in a timely manner
6. Apply paint to surfaces, walls, floors, doors, and
7. Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other
8. Scrape, sandpaper, prime, or seal surfaces prior to
9. Clean walls to ensure proper
10. Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure
11. Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate
12. Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
13. Erect scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.
14. Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
