The Role, Poured Fresh

Brookhaven Market is looking for a part-time Cafe Clerk/Barista (onsite in Burr Ridge, IL) to keep our café humming during morning and mid-day rushes. This role exists to deliver consistent, crave-worthy specialty drinks and friendly service—every single cup.

Key responsibilities include:
- Craft specialty beverages using provided recipes and café equipment
- Support simple food prep when needed
- Keep the service counter clean, stocked, and guest-ready
- Follow opening/closing checklists and handle the register with accuracy
- Apply food handling and sanitation guidelines throughout the shift

Daily Café Flow

Start your morning or mid-day shift by setting up your station, running through the opener list, and getting everything ready for that first wave. Once guests roll in, you’ll bounce between ringing orders, building drinks to recipe, and keeping the counter looking sharp. Between bursts, you’ll restock, wipe down, and sync up with the team on quick food prep. Wrap up by closing out cleanly and leaving the café reset for the next crew.
