Fitness InstructorHelp us change lives through aquatics!SwimRVA is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and people-focused Fitness Instructor to join our growing team! This is an exciting opportunity for a certified fitness professional to lead engaging water and/or land-based group fitness classes while creating an inclusive, welcoming experience for every participant.Whether you specialize in aquatic fitness, strength and conditioning, group exercise, yoga, or another fitness discipline, we want to hear from you!At SwimRVA, our mission is to change lives through aquatics, and we believe our greatest strength and impact come from our people. We invest in the growth and development of our team members so they can grow their skills, build meaningful relationships, and make a difference in the Richmond community.What You Will DoDesign, prepare, and lead engaging fitness classes in your area of expertise.Demonstrate and clearly explain exercises, movements, and routines while promoting proper technique and injury prevention.Offer modifications and options so participants of varying fitness levels can feel successful and challenged.Create a welcoming experience for first-time participants and help them feel comfortable and confident.Build positive relationships with members and foster a supportive, inclusive class environment.Accurately record and maintain daily class attendance.Monitor your class area for safety concerns and promptly report issues to the appropriate team member.Deliver exceptional customer service as a welcoming and knowledgeable representative of SwimRVA.Maintain clean and sanitary equipment and class areas.Contribute to a positive, energetic, and community-focused fitness experience.What We Are Looking ForStrong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.A passion for fitness and helping others reach their goals.Excellent customer service skills and a welcoming, positive attitude.Current certification that is appropriate to the fitness discipline(s) you will teach.Current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.Ability to confidently lead a group, demonstrate exercises, and create an engaging class experience.Compensation & BenefitsPart-time, non-exempt positionStarting at $20.00/hourFree employee facility membership at multiple locations, including SwimRVA North25% off SwimRVA program fees for your dependentsFree SwimRVA Hammerheads adult swimming membershipAmerican Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED and Oxygen certification opportunitiesOpportunities for professional growth and advancement within a dynamic, committed, and growing organizationReady to make a difference while doing what you love?
