Now Hiring Dietary Aide!
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Dietary Aide to join our team. The Dietary Aide plays a key role in supporting food preparation and meal service in accordance with planned menus, portion control guidelines, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This role helps ensure residents receive high-quality meals in a safe, clean, and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities of Dietary Aide- Assist with preparation and serving of meals and snacks according to standardized recipes and therapeutic diet orders
- Follow established menus, diet manuals, and dietary policies and procedures
- Ensure only approved food substitutions are made
- Monitor, record, and document food and equipment temperatures as required
- Maintain proper dietary utensils and ensure accurate tray set-up for residents
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation duties in accordance with infection control and safety standards
- Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food, supplies, and equipment
- Support inventory needs and communicate supply or equipment concerns to the Food Services Director
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to support resident care and dining services
- Attend training sessions and remain current on dietary service standards
- Maintain resident confidentiality and treat all residents with dignity and respect
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
- Work safely with dietary equipment and maintain a clean work environment
- Remain flexible with scheduling and job duties based on departmental needs
- Represent the dietary department with professionalism, respect, and integrity
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Positive attitude and strong commitment to working with the elderly
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions when needed
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and the public
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Basic math skills related to food service and resident care
